Site-Specific, Motion-sensitive Light Installation
LED, frosted acrylic, wood, motion-sensitive camera
Lucy in Disguise is a curtain of light, acted upon by the movement of it’s audience. Upon movements detected outside the window, changes in hue and intensity of the lighting source are triggered: light touches frosted surface and is diffused along linear structures, working with processes of optical aberration.
Lucy in Disguise utilises motion sensitive cameras to allow interaction between viewer and artwork. Focusing on specific techniques of amplification and magnification of an original light source through the use of diffusion and reflection.
Custom built for the Lucy in Disguise boutique, London, and exhibited over the duration of a month during London Design Week, 2011.
