Performace Version:

Equilibrium’s structure is based on the creation of dark passageways framed with light: a gateway of pulsating light stretching towards illusionary depths. Two layers of illumination work in rhythmical correspondence, bouncing reflected light through a conceptual bridge between physical and non-physical spaces.
Dynamic, magnetic; the cascading hall of mirrors created by two layers of light work with concepts of balance between opposing or competing forces.
Programmed for live performance, jarring moments within bass-driven melodies are controlled in real time: hue and rhythm of light patterns are built upon one another in synchronicity with sound.



Touring internationally as centre-stage piece, Equilibrium was performed as an inseparable element of the Live Performance of debut album: ‘Music watching over me’ (Released: Crosstown Records, 2011). Performance and installation have been integrated in an experimental process to create immersive connections with multi sensory stimuli.

Initially programmed for live performance, where hue and rhythm of light patterns are built upon one another in synchronicity with sound, Equilibrium was later exhibited alone in Port Izmir’s International Triennial of Contemporary Art, alongside a majority of Turkish artists including Markus Keibel, Fabien Verschaere and Mehmet Dere, Anna Fasshauser, Maja Bajevic.



Installation Version:

Installed within a darkened room, the Equilibrium Installation is programmed as responsive to sound - audience members become the instigators of light.




Equilibrium is the first illuminated installation programmed to act responsively to sound triggers of its audience, where the viewer has become source of both light and discourse of their own making.
